Anodizing is a surface treatment for aluminium. During the process, the substrate is provided with an oxide layer through an electrochemical process. The oxide layer acts as a protective coating that becomes an integral part of the existing aluminium. This increases the corrosion resistance of the material. Anodizing is available in a variety of colours.
